Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded

Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded is a 2009 Indian Malayalam action crimethriller film directed by Amal Neerad who also did the cinematography. Mohanlal reprises the role of the eponymous Sagar Alias Jacky from the 1987 film Irupatham Noottandu. The script was written by S. N. Swamy and the film was produced by Aashirvad Cinemas. Bhavana and Shobana play the female leads while Jyothirmayi plays a cameo role. The film was a commercial success at box office, however it received mixed to negative response from critics.

While writer S. N. Swami was working on the script of Baba Kalyani, its producer Antony Perumbavoor approached him with the idea of a remaking Swamis earlier work Irupatham Noottandu. It got Swami think about its possibility, in the final events of the film, villain died and Sagar is in Jail. After two years, Antony asked about the remake, Swami suggested taking only the character Sagar and making a completely new film, neither a continuation nor a sequel. In Irupatham Noottandu, Sagar was an introvert who rarely smiles. Now, although the character has aged he is doing something that is not socially accepted.The films soundtrack featuressongs composed by Gopi Sundar, with lyrics by Gopi Sundar, Jofy Tharakan, Santhosh Varma and Riya Joy. ........
